About the artist

Patty Bailey Sheets is native to Lewisville, North Carolina where she resides and maintains her studio.

From childhood, drawing was her passion and many hours were spent in that pursuit.

In all her portraits, Patty captures the essence of the person with a sensitive realism. Her empathy with humanity is obvious through her artwork and each portrait is composed to express the spirit of the subject in a moment in time.

Her formal education started at the School of Design at North Carolina State University. She earned a BA from Salem College in Studio Art where she graduated magna cum laude and with Honors in Art. She continues her education with workshops from around the country. weekly life drawing sessions with a group of area artists. Patty also furthers her education and skills by teaching many portrait classes and workshops herself.
